The new energy label
For more than 20 years, the energy label has helped consumers choose the most energy-efficient products. The current energy A-plus scale (A+++ - D) has become less transparent. And to address this, the EU has decided to increase the requirements and rescale the energy label.
The new energy label features a scale from A to G and will be introduced in stages across all product groups over the coming years. As a result, there will be a transitional period during which consumers may encounter two types of energy labels in stores for a limited time.
How can you distinguish between the two energy labels?
The new energy label can be easily recognised by the A-G scale and the QR code on the new energy label.

Product fiche/product information sheet (PIS)
Please note, that the "Product Fiche" is going to be renamed to "Product Information Sheet" (PIS).
Transition period
When a new regulation is introduced, a transition period is provided. This gives manufacturers, importers, distributors, and dealers enough time to adjust their products and information to meet the new requirements without causing disruptions to production or sales.
During this transition period, it is still allowed to sell products that meet the rules of the previous regulation.
Once the transition period ends, any products that do not comply with the new regulation can no longer be sold.
