Old and new energy labelling regulation
The EU Commission has adopted a new regulation (EU) 2023/2534 that sets new energy labelling requirements for tumble dryers. This new regulation has entered into force and took effect on the 1st of July 2025.
The biggest change is that the energy label for tumble dryers is rescaled now, so the energy efficiency classes range from A to G. Additionally, the 'Product Fiche' has been updated and renamed as the 'Product Information Sheet,' with some modifications to its content."
Regulation (EU) 2025/1353 amended the new energy labelling regulation (EU) 2023/2534 by introducing additional repairability information requirements from the 1st of January 2027 onwards. A repairability class from A to E and related repairability information will then become mandatory part of the energy label, product information sheet and technical documentation. Suppliers may already use the amended format voluntarily from the 24th of November 2025 onwards.
