When will the new requirements apply?

On the 1^st of January 2024, a new energy labelling regulation (EU) 2023/2534 entered into force. 

Most parts took effect on the 1^st of July 2025 with the following exceptions: 

• Since the 1^st of January 2024
  The product information sheet must be made available via EPREL, unless the dealer requests it in printed form. 
• Suppliers shall: 
• For products placed on the market:
  • Before the 1^st of March 2025: 
    On request from the dealers deliver a new energy label. 
  • From the 1^st of March to the 30^th of June 2025:   
    Supply each product with both the "current" and the "new" energy label. 
  • From the 1^st of July 2025:  
    Supply each product with only the "new" energy label. 
• Enter the values for the parameters of the new product information sheet into the EPREL database  
• From the 24^th of November 2025 
  • Suppliers may voluntarily provide the amended energy label, product information sheet and technical documentation including the repairability class and repairability index. 
• From the 1^st of January 2027 
  • The amended energy label, product information sheet and technical documentation requirements including repairability information become mandatory. 

Old regulation
The old regulation (EU) 392/2012 only applies to tumble dryer units placed on the market before the dates mentioned above.  

Products already placed on the market before the 1^st of January 2027 may continue to be sold with energy labels not containing the repairability class even beyond that date.
