Tumble dryers
For all regulations a certain period is specified between the publication of a new regulation and the applicability of the specific regulation requirements. This transition period ensures sufficient lead-time for the market actors (including manufacturers, importers distributors, and dealers) to adjust their products and product information for compliance without disruptive effects on production and sales.
During the transition period, manufacturers, importers, and distributors are still allowed to place products on the market, which were manufactured in line with the previous legislation.
After the transition period, products not in line with the new legislation must no longer be placed on the market.
The transition period affects dealers in several ways. To understand the specific implications, please investigate the relevant product regulation. In general:
- In some cases—depending on the product group—there is a specific transition period during which products may continue to be sold, although no energy label or no new energy label exists.
- For products with a rescaled energy label: Within a certain period of time, the products need to be delivered to you with both the current and the new energy label, although the new energy label is not yet to be shown. You as a dealer need to take care to display the appropriate energy label, i.e. you need to replace the current (old) with the new energy label within a certain period of time.
