Common mistakes observed by market surveillance
We have compiled the findings from previous market surveillance actions, where similar mistakes have been frequently detected:
- No entry in EPREL
- When there is an entry in EPREL, often missing values for major technical parameters
- Major errors in Declaration of Conformity (DoC):
- Ecodesign regulation is not referenced; supplier name and address are missing; model and brand name are unclear
- Minor errors occur such as measurement standards not mentioned, DoC is being issued after product is placed on market etc.
- The ecodesign performance requirements are not met based on the technical documentation (for example, electric heaters are placed on the market without controls; emissions are not reported for gas products; information is missing so that performance cannot be calculated).
- The provision of the online energy label and the product information sheet often was very poor; none of the websites were fully compliant for all the heaters listed.
